This Week's Share blackboardWhat's In a Share?

Our weekly shares are "reasonably seasonal."   While we try and keep things interesting, we want to include popular items when we can, such as asparagus, which is only available for a few weeks.  During the "Local Season" (June - November) the produce comes from our own 80 acre organic farm.  We supplement with things we don't grow, like fruit, berries or sweet corn, from other farms in the neighborhood.  During the "East Coast Season" (December - June) we work with a network of farms through our regional "foodshed."  We include local product when we can find it as well as Florida Citrus, cooking greens, avocados tomatoes, eggplant, North Carolina Sweet Potatoes, Georgia strawberries and much more!

Please take a look at our past farm share newsletters, which list the items in each week's share.

The vast majority of the items included in each week’s share is certified organic. The only exception is if we aren’t able to source an organic item, and we can get that item locally grown but conventional from a farm that we know and trust in terms of their practices. We always notify members via the weeky e-newsletter when an item in the share is not organic.

The local farms we work with include Four Star Farms in Northfield, Warner Farm in Sunderland, Atlas Farm in Deerfield, Chamutka Farm and Nourse Farms, both in Whately. The East Coast farms include Deep Root Organics in Vermont, Eastern Carolina Organics, Somerset Farms, Homestead Orgnanics, Eagle's Nest Citrus Orchard, and Lady Moon Farms.
